Family, friends and strangers opened their hearts and their wallets Saturday at a fundraiser in East Northport for a mother of four who was gunned down in her Huntington Village bagel shop.
Police say Ann Anderson, 39, was fatally shot by her estranged husband at the Super Bagel in May.
Friends at the fundraiser for Anderson?s kids say they still cannot believe such a wonderful person is gone. Anderson?s niece says the family is overwhelmed by the community?s generosity during a tragedy.
Not only did the event raise money for Anderson?s teenage children, it also raised awareness of domestic violence on Long Island. A public candlelight vigil was held for Anderson and all victims of domestic violence in East Northport Saturday evening.
