The Northwell Health nurses choir is heading to the semifinals on "America's Got Talent."
“Never in my life did I imagine I would be able to do this and heal through singing,” says nurse Jodi Beasley.
The 18 front-line workers hope their singing will help to heal a nation trying to recover after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Emanuel Remilus is one of the nurses in the choir. He shared his excitement with News 12.
“This is very exciting that we can use our voices on a national stage," Remilus says. “We’re so honored and pleased that we are able to sing our hearts out."
The front-line workers believe music is healing, so they sing to their patients.
“Music is very healing," says Remilus. “It soothes the soul."
Nurse Sydney Daniel tells News 12, “I think being on stage singing for the nation is giving people hope that they didn’t know that they had before.”
The semifinals will begin in two weeks.
