A man swiped a donation jar meant for a sick dog right off the counter at the Babylon Animal Hospital in Lindenhurst.
Surveillance video captured a man stealing the donation jar. The $500 in the jar was meant to pay for surgeries to fix the deformed legs of Miley, an 8-year-old Italian greyhound.
Miley is a lucky dog, though. Her owner had brought the dog in to be euthanized, but the vet staff adopted her instead. And despite the theft, Miley is getting the necessary care to fix her legs.
While News 12 Long Island was conducting interviews, a woman who saw the story came in to donate toward the dog's bills.
Miley is still looking for her forever home.
