Shop owners in Westhampton Beach say nearby construction is hurting their bottom dollar this holiday season.
A massive construction project has closed Main Street since September. Business owners say they are definitely feeling the pinch.
"Everyone is down that I know of," says card shop owner Lynn Jones. "A few people say they're almost the same. There's a swing. We're down at least 30 percent...30 to 50 percent. A couple of businesses are down 90 percent they say."
The project includes brand-new storm drains and the burying of power lines under the street. The good news is Main Street is expected to reopen Friday.
The entire project is expected to be completed in May.
