Long Islanders headed out in droves to grocery stories in order to stock up ahead of Sunday’s storm.
Giunta’s Meat Farms in Farmingdale had a steady stream of customers Friday, who packed up their carts in order to have full pantries and fridges in time for the storm.
Though food was flying off the shelves, they never emptied.
Manager Joey Giunta said that’s because rather than use computer-generated ordering, employees at the store use their own eyes to make sure they’d have enough food on hand.
“You can’t get stuck without bread!" exclaimed Phyllis Merendino, of Farmingdale.
Over in Melville, Costco was very busy.
One couple told News 12 the “lines were long,” and there were no eggs and milk left.
