Residents escaped Wednesday morning after flames burned through their home in Shirley.

The house is located on West End Avenue. A woman and her children made it out of the first floor while tenants living in the basement climbed out the windows. 

A neighbor says that none of the residents were seriously injured, but that the family may have lost a dog.
