A shark was spotted in Long Island Sound over the weekend.
Fisherman John Skinner was fishing for blue fish Saturday night in Southold when he hooked a brown shark instead.
He captured it all on camera before releasing it back into the water.
The brown shark is a prohibited species in New York, so fishermen are barred from targeting them.
News 12 has previously reported on a number of shark sightings all over the Island this summer, including in Jamesport, Quogue and Tobay Beach.
