Sabrina Quraishi and her now husband Jason Gonzalez say they were thrilled to be planning their dream destination wedding to the Dominican Republic.
They tell News 12 about a month before the big day they were notified by the hotel that none of the $45,000 their family paid for this trip was given to the resort. The couple used Crafty Getaways to book their wedding trip.
Sage Biamonte from Miller Place also used this travel company for her honeymoon to St Lucia. When she saw Sabrina's post on a Long Island Brides Facebook group, she immediately was worried about the $10,000 she gave Crafty Getaways.
Sage Biamonte said, “I did a little research on my own to find out they didn't pay any money toward our honeymoon.”
Biamonte was able to get her full $10,000 back after she says she went to the agency, now called Luxe Travel Society, in person.
Quraishi says she still hasn't seen a penny and has filed a police report.
Crafty Getaways released this statement:
“These unfounded allegations stem from a former employee who knowingly set in motion an organized campaign to attack the agency which included initiating improper chargebacks. The former employee is engaging other clients to work in concert in attacking the businesses’ reputation. They are now engaged in the deliberate weaponizing of agencies furnishing them with false statements that upon investigation have been determined to be unfounded. Crafty will seek redress against these actors and will see them in court”
