'Share the Warmth' coat drive held at Jackson Main School in Hempstead

Jackson Main School in Hempstead hosted a coat drive Friday to help keep residents warm.
The "Share the Warmth" event was started by a 15-year-old girl.
Alana Mitnick, of Plainview, started a coat and clothes drive as part of her Bat Mitzvah project three years ago.
She says since then she has helped hundreds of Long Island families.
Organizers of the event say residents were encouraged to take as many coats or other clothing accessories that they needed.
