Full service has been restored to the Babylon branch of the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) Tuesday after a huge tarp halted trains.
Officials say high winds caused a tarp from a water tower to come down across the tracks Monday. The tarp hit power lines, suspended service and stranded tens of thousands of evening commuters.
LIPA had to cut power to remove the tarp. Some residents in the Freeport area are still without electricity.
