Volunteers came together in Morrisania Monday for a serve-a-thon in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.
The New York City Coalition Against Hunger recruited hundreds of volunteers to help serve food at the Caldwell Temple to those in need.
The volunteers say that Dr. King's legacy of service and fundamental social progress can only continue if people come together to help others, just like they are doing.
Caldwell Temple will also be giving out clothes to the needy next Saturday as part of its effort to keep Dr. King's spirit alive.
