A Selden woman says lingerie giant Victoria?s Secret ripped off her idea for a bra and is seeking retribution.
Katerina Plew, a single mother of four, says she thought of the idea for a bra with straps that can be worn in different ways in 1999. She sketched the idea for the bra and got it patented.
Plew says she contacted Victoria?s Secret about her idea and was about to meet with company executives when suddenly the meeting was canceled. She says she received a phone call saying the legal team at Victoria?s Secret advised against the appointment.
It was after that Plew saw the strapless convertible bra she says she designed in stores. She is seeking unspecified damages from the company and is suing it for patent infringement.
Victoria's Secret declined to comment on the lawsuit.
