The 54-acre nature preserve in Smithtown is full of outdoor family fun and learning.
Kids can run and play in the discovery area. There are trails to explore, including the Chipmunk Trail, where you can follow along on a little story.
And if you are searching for some serenity, find a spot to sit down and relax in their beautiful garden.
Or visit the butterfly vivarium. This time of year, you can see Malachites, Iulias and Zebra Longwings flying around, and also in the chrysalis stage.
And when it comes to birds, they have quite the full nest there, including a bald eagle. You can see rescued and rehabbed animals in their enclosures and even up close, including Stitch, the red-tailed hawk, and a beautiful grey horned owl.
And be sure to visit the barn, so you can see the pigs.
