Tuesday night marks the second night of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year
New Jersey Attorney General Matt Platkin issued a statement that there will be added security during the High Holy Days.
It's one of the most sacred holidays in the Jewish calendar year and security and safety are top of mind.
While there is no specific threat to New Jersey, Platkin wrote on Facebook on Monday, stating that law enforcement will continue to maintain a strong presence, especially in sensitive places, including Jewish houses of worship, schools and cultural centers, ahead of the High Holy Days - Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur coming up in October.
Rosh Hashanah in the Hebrew language means "head of the year."
Religious services are going to be available all day long. The holiday will end on Wednesday at dusk.
