Two men from Brooklyn are accused of stealing $148,000 worth of jewelry at gunpoint from a store in the Green Acres mall in Valley Stream last month.

Nassau County police arrested both men after a three-week investigation.

Nassau County police said Alonzo Simpson, 40, and Jahquan Williams, 28, entered Kay Jewelers at 2034 Green Acres Road on Sept. 18 around 8 p.m., an hour before the mall closed for the night.

Investigators said they asked the female employee, 25, to look at a necklace.

As she opened the display case, detectives said one of the men displayed a gun and then they stole several pieces of jewelry worth about $148,000.

Officers said the victim feared for her life and complied as the two men ran from the scene.

Police charged both men with two counts of second-degree robbery, first-degree robbery and second-degree grand larceny.

According to court records, Simpson, who lives in East Flatbush, was arrested last Wednesday and was arraigned the next day on Oct. 2.

Nassau County police said they arrested Williams, who has an address in Brownsville, yesterday. He is expected to be arraigned later today at First District Court in Hempstead.
