Exclusive surveillance video obtained by News 12 shows the boy riding a stand-up scooter just before 7:30 p.m. Friday at East 14th Street and Avenue Z.
The scooterist is seen riding through a traffic light when a white SUV, traveling in the opposite direction, makes a left-hand turn and hits the boy, sending him flying off the scooter.
EMS took the victim to Maimonides Medical Center, where fire officials say he is recovering from minor injuries.
