School officials announced they are waiving the $12 PSAT fee for all Bronx students. For upcoming sophomores and juniors, the school year means preparing for college. To help students put their best foot forward, city officials are taking steps to level the playing field. Officials say, taking the PSAT is an important step on the path to college and making it free allows everyone access to the test. The PSAT qualifies students for National Merit Scholarships and includes a free SAT study plan, lists of colleges and majors. Bronx 10th and 11th-graders will be taking the test on Wednesday, October 18 .
