Connectquot School District officials are warning parents and students about recent inappropriate messages being sent via Snapchat.

According to a letter from Superintendent Lynda Adams, the person asks victims to send nude pictures of themselves or face consequences.

"It has been reported that the account user attempts to contact individuals, encourages them to send pictures of themselves unclothed and threatens to retaliate if that person does not cooperate," she says in the letter.

School administrators say they've told police about the inappropriate use of Snapchat. 

School officials ask anyone with information about the incidents to call them or contact police directly.
