School officials have confirmed a cyberattack occurred within the Mineola Union Free School District.

A message sent to parents said that the district determined the cause of an internet and phone outage was due to a cyberattack.

The message went on to say, "We are working with our security provider to restore service."

The district says they expect to have internet and phones restored by Wednesday evening in time for the start of school on Thursday.
