Scattered storms pose risk for parts of tri-state area
The tri-state area could see more scattered summer storms this evening.
The storms will mostly impact New Jersey, the lower Hudson Valley and Connecticut. They may briefly cross New York City and western Long Island.
There is a chance one or two storms could be considered severe.
The greatest likely impact window of the storm will be through 9 p.m.
With storms of this nature, individual cells produce heavy downpour and could cause flash flooding, lightning and possibly small hail and gusty winds.
