At least one Long Island theater owner says there has been a rise in ticket troubles caused by scammers.
The Argyle Theatre in Babylon is selling ticket's for Friday's production of "Bye Bye Birdie" for $85, but it is going for over $1,000 on some resale websites.
Argyle Theatre Owner Dylan Pearlman says some people are disheartened when they get to will call and realize they don't have tickets waiting for them or they paid an enormous amount over face value.
The Better Business Bureau advises people to check a venue's official website to know what they are actually charging before buying tickets.
