? Brentwood High School student Samantha Garvey was not named as a finalist in the Intel Science competition.
However, Garvey, 18, has had a pretty amazing journey over the past few weeks. Garvey appeared this morning on NBC?s ?Today? show. The homeless teen got to be at President Obama?s State of the Union address in Washington last night. In addition, last week she received a $50,000 scholarship from Ellen DeGeneres. Garvey says science has helped her throughout her hardships.
