The annual 26.2-mile race attracts runners from all over the world. More than 6,500 runners signed up this year.
The race started at Charles Lindbergh Boulevard in Uniondale and ended at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow.
Oz Pearlman, of Manhattan, won the men's race for his second straight year, clocking in at just under 2.5 hours.
Amanda Filiberto, of Northport, won the woman's race at just over 3 hours.
Sunday's marathon events also included a half-marathon, a 10K race, and a finish line festival.
There was even a surprise proposal at the finish line.
