? Two construction workers were injured Wednesday morning when a 100-foot, 250-ton section of concrete that was part of the Roslyn Viaduct fell.
Police say the accident occurred at around 8:15 a.m. and involved an old section of the viaduct that had been taken down. The concrete, which was placed on blocks 10 feet above the ground on Tuesday, slipped off and fell on a cherry picker.
Both of the injured workers are expected to survive. State officials are investigating exactly how the accident happened. Construction on the viaduct was supposed to be completed last year, but state officials say it will take until 2010.
