A Roosevelt woman opened up her heart and home to perfect strangers for her annual Easter meal for the homeless.
Joanna Belle-Richards has hosted the free Easter dinner for the past 10 years at her Pleasant Avenue house. Community members donated the food and volunteers of all ages helped serve. Recipients received good eats, good company and Easter baskets stuffed with sweet treats.
Kenneth Brown, who recently lost his job at a supermarket, says he won't forget the act of kindness. "This helps me out with food. So when I'm hungry I come here and it helps me out a lot," said Brown.
