A group from Roosevelt plans to head to Albany to continue their fight against the controversial reinstatement of a schoolteacher accused of displaying nooses in the classroom.
Residents met Thursday at the American Legion to further discuss the decision to bring back a tenured teacher accused of displaying nooses with the caption “back to school necklace.”
The Roosevelt High School student body is almost entirely Black and Latino, and community activists say those symbols are clearly racist.
