A Ronkonkoma man is preparing for the International Bird Show.

Voice teacher and bird breeder Joaquin Sanchez is taking 40 of his best canaries to Orlando, Florida for the show. They have won multiple awards across the country for their tone quality and a wide variety of attributes that the average person is not in tune with.

Sanchez says he has been fascinated by birds since his childhood in Spain.

The competition will take place Dec. 12-14.
