Neighbors in Rocky Point tell News 12 that they are worried about a request to bring a storage facility to their residential block.

Neighbors say an application was submitted by another resident to establish a boat and car yard on Prince Road.

Neighbors say the lot has been abandoned for years. They say they would prefer homes over any commercial property, and that there is enough room for two homes to be built on the property.

They also say they are worried about safety on the street because they feel it will lead to an increase in truck traffic.

"The trucks are gonna be the worst," says Connie Campo, of Rocky Point. "It's bad enough when we have to have them coming up here, even when they don't deliver on this road. They come up here to take the side roads, so they don't have to catch the light."

The name on the application for the permit is Vincent Labate. News 12 went to his house, but no one came to the door.

The Town of Brookhaven's Zoning Appeals Board will review the application on Wednesday.

Some neighbors say they will be at the meeting to oppose it.

A spokesperson for the Town of Brookhaven says town officials will not comment on the permit until after the meeting.
