Nassau police say an employee taking thousands of dollars to the bank was robbed in Inwood Monday by thieves who knew her routine well.
According to police, a female worker at the Family Dollar store walked out with $14,000 of weekend profits on her way to deposit it. Police say as she was getting in her car, another vehicle stopped suddenly beside her. The robber then pulled out a gun and grabbed the bag of money. Despite the woman's attempt to fight off the assailant, he hit her in the head with his gun several times. Police say she was not seriously injured.
Cops say the robber knew her routine and must have planned the robbery in advance. Anyone with information is asked to call Nassau Crime Stoppers at (800) 244-TIPS.
