One man was killed and another injured in a double stabbing this morning on a road in West Babylon.
Police say the stabbings happened around 9:20 a.m. after the occupants of two cars got into a fight at the intersection of Straight Path and Commander Avenue. Both cars emptied, and two men in a silver vehicle were stabbed in the torso.
One of the stabbing victims got back in the car and made a U-turn before jumping out of the car in front of the home of Junior Marsenat.
Marsenat did not want to appear on camera, but says the man banged on the door and begged for someone to call police.
"He was asking for help so my mom was able to give them things to put pressure on the stab wound," says Marsenat.
Both males were transported by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital. Nyquan Banister, 22, of North Babylon, was pronounced dead. The second victim, a 21-year-old North Babylon man, is expected to live.
Police are searching for the occupants of the second car, which is described as a white SUV with out-of-state plates. Anyone who witnessed the fight or the SUV leaving the scene is asked to call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
