The Riverhead Town Board voted to sue over a proposed sewage treatment plant in Flanders.

Southampton Town wants to build the plant near Philips Avenue Elementary School.

The Riverhead Teachers Association has already protested against the project.

The town says it will also impact its plans for downtown revitalization.

Southampton has not yet commented on the impending lawsuit.
