Some Riverdale residents distressed due to the recent sparks of conflict that have broken out between Israelis and Palestinians.
The latest conflict between Israel and Palestine comes following the recent kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teenagers.
Rabbi Avi Weiss, of the Hebrew Institute of Riverdale, says he has been protesting in the Bronx and around the city, standing for hope and strength for his family and community in Israel, who he says is under attack by terrorists.
Members of the synagogue and neighbors in Riverdale have made cards for the families of the boys kidnapped and killed in Israel, signed with messages of support and hope for peace.
Some members also made a card for the family of the Palestinan boy who was killed shortly after the three teens were murdered, in what some have speculated was a revenge attack.
