Ridgewood School District has released a community survey regarding high school start times.
It found that most students think their current 7:45 start time is too early.
Parents are split evenly on the issue, whereas most teachers do not want the school day to begin any later.
"I'm grateful the community has voiced their opinion. Our mandate as board is to serve the community and more feedback - and more awareness that happens, the more whatever we implement will make sense and the transition will be smooth,” said Hyun-Ju Kwak, president of the Ridgewood Board of Education.
Altering the start and end times could impact school activities, sports, bus routes, transportation budgets and family commitments.
As of now, the district plans to keep school start and end times the same.
