A Ridge man was sentenced Friday for the execution-style killing of his live-in girlfriend and the attempted murder of a responding police officer.
Jose Rodriguez was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison inside a Riverhead courtroom. He pleaded guilty to charges last week.
As News 12 has reported, police say Rodriguez fatally shot his girlfriend, 36-year-old Kimberly Sellitto, at his condo complex on Village Drive in Ridge in Nov. 2013.
Prosecutors said he used a high-powered assault rifle. He then barricaded himself inside his condo with his two young children inside, and allegedly fired six shots at police officers who responded to the scene.
