Christmas may be over, but that didn't stop Long Islanders from hitting the stores again on Saturday.
Many shoppers headed to Roosevelt Field Mall to make returns and exchanges, and look for post-holiday deals.
According to the National Retail Federation, many people wait until after the holidays to buy their presents. The NRF says for 22 percent of people, the wait is made worthwhile by some of the best deals.
On average, people spend a little more than $800 during the holiday season, according to the NRF.
