A former Nassau County cop has pleaded guilty to official misconduct charges in a scandal that implicated him and two other high-ranking police officials.
The Nassau DA tells News 12 that retired Detective Squad Supervisor Alan Sharpe accepted a plea deal today.
Sharpe, along with former Deputy Commissioner William Flanagan and former Deputy Patrol Chief John Hunter, were accused of trying to prevent a wealthy donor's son from being arrested.
As part of the plea, Sharpe will get two years probation, 150 hours of community service and will pay $1,000 in fines.
His attorney tells News 12 that Sharpe still maintains he was only following orders in returning the stolen property.
