Super Bowl Sunday may be one of the busiest days for bars and restaurants, but due to the pandemic and the incoming snowstorm - some businesses had to get creative to get customers to their tables safely.
The Rust and Gold Bar in Huntington would be prepping for one of its busiest days, but with capacity limits and a 10 p.m. closure, they're readying for a less profitable day.
The CDC recommends watching the game with members of your household or small socially distanced groups. To help with that, the Rust and Gold partnered with several other bars and offered free PPE for guests to take home or use if they come back on Sunday.
Many Long Islanders, though, say they do plan to stay home and either order in food or pick up supplies at stores. But game day may change with the snowstorm set to hit the area.
In a recent survey by the National Retail Federation, only 28% of people plan to throw or attend a party - or even watch the Super Bowl at a bar this year. That's way down from past years.
