Restaurants, bars get first chance to apply for federal COVID-19 grants Monday

The U.S. Small Business Association will provide tax-free, nonrepayable grants to establishments that lost revenue during the pandemic.

Restaurants and bars can start applying for federal COVID-19 grants.
The money comes from the latest COVID relief bill that was passed in March.
The U.S. Small Business Association will provide tax-free, nonrepayable grants to establishments that lost revenue during the pandemic.
The grants will cover costs such as payroll, utilities and maintenance, including the cost of building outdoor seating.
The $29 billion grant program opened for applications at noon.
