Residents in the Farmingdale School District will vote Tuesday on a plan to build a community-based sports complex and aquatic center.
It would include sports fields, stadium lighting for night events, a new track and a state-of-the-art swimming center at the Weldon E. Howitt Middle School.
The district needs the public's permission to float a $36 million bond to pay for it.
Despite the new borrowing, school officials say property taxes would actually go down if the complex is built.
Residents can vote on the proposed bond between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. Tuesday at Howitt Middle School.
