Some Rocky Point residents raised concerns Tuesday over loose dogs in the area at a community meeting in their local Veterans of Foreign Wars hall.
They say the Town of Brookhaven could have intervened sooner after a series of dog attacks.
"We don't feel safe living where we live, and I don't feel safe taking my daughter in the backyard," says Colin Goldberg.
The group says there were two pit bull attacks last month, including one on Aug. 10 in which dogs hopped over a fence and immediately attacked a woman and her own dogs.
Goldberg says he also encountered a loose pit bull when he was at a playground with his daughter.
Brookhaven Town says that three of the dogs involved in last month's attacks were euthanized on Aug. 27.
