Reproductive rights supporters rallied Thursday in front of the Nassau County courthouse.
The group of elected officials and concerned citizens say they were disturbed by the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
They say they want to prevent extremists from threatening New Yorkers' access to legal abortion and reproductive health care.
The rally happened following an individual who was taken into police custody following a failed attempt to disrupt operations at Planned Parenthood's Hempstead health center on July 7.
The suspect placed multiple chains and locks on the parking lot gate, which were then super glued to prevent opening.
Protesters tell News 12 that they will continue to fight for women's reproductive rights by holding more rallies.
