A new report from an environmental research group says Long Island homes could be faced with flooding from rising sea levels over the next 35 years.
The report by the Regional Plan Association says rising sea levels could flood 7,000 local homes over the next three decades.
The report also concluded that Fire Island could all but be destroyed.
The RPA advises coastal communities to elevate homes, protect infrastructure and work to minimize carbon emissions.
