New allegations of sexual abuse have emerged against Chaminade High School in Mineola, according to a report by Newsday.
The newspaper reports that a 62-year-old man claims he was sexually abused by a communications supervisor at the school starting in the fall of 1970. The Nassau County District Attorney's Office confirms that it has received a letter from the man.
The allegation comes after separate allegations of sex abuse against a former president of the school, who is no longer allowed to serve as a functioning priest. James Williams, the former priest who was accused, has denied any wrongdoing.
In both cases, prosecutors can't seek criminal charges because of the statute of limitations.
