A report from the American Psychological Association found that more than half of Americans are significantly stressed out by this year's presidential election.
More than 50 percent said they were "very" or "somewhat" stressed.
"I feel people are getting more stressed out about it and coming to the realization that's there's only two people that we could possibly choose from," says Stephanie Wilson, of Hauppauge. "I feel like people are finally facing that reality."
According to the report, a major cause of stress in the upcoming election is social media. Political tweets and posts can cause unwanted stress, but it's tough to unplug, especially for young adults who rely on digital news sites.
"On the one hand, you get a lot of information. That's good. You're learning," says Kamyln Sommersell, of Brentwood. "But at the same time, it's still pettiness."
