Rep. Suozzi continues efforts to get rid of SALT deduction cap

Long Island officials are among those again taking aim at a Trump administration policy.
Rep. Tom Suozzi says the State and Local Taxes (SALT) deduction cap has got to go because it is running people out of New York.
Suozzi is just one of several Congress members looking to remove the $10,000 tax cap that first took effect in 2017.
"The biggest complaint you get from everybody is about taxes, that's the biggest thing people are upset about," says Suozzi. "And when they lost their SALT deduction, it made it harder. And as a result, people move away because of it."
Earlier this year, Suozzi said he would oppose any changes made to the federal tax code unless SALT deductions are restored.
