Many Long Island residents have decided to help the thousands in need of homes, food and clean water in Haiti following Hurricane Matthew.
On Tuesday, humanitarian groups met in Franklin Square to plan a supply mission that will send hundreds of Long Island volunteers to Haiti at different times this week.
Over 1,000 Haitians died in Hurricane Matthew.
Meanwhile, FEMA continues to transport food and supplies to North and South Carolina.
At least 18 people died as a result of the hurricane in North Carolina. The United States' death toll now stands at 33.
President Obama has declared a major disaster in South Carolina, clearing the way for federal money for recovery.
