A Hicksville woman is upset after someone stole Mary and baby Jesus from her lawn nativity scene.
Police said the statues were swiped sometime Saturday night or early Sunday. Carmen Wilkonski wasn't the only victim in the neighborhood. But that did little to ease her pain.
"To us, it has a lot of meaning," Wilkonski said. "It's not just a display," she said of the statues her husband purchased in the 1960s.
The couple had been setting up the display for the past 38 years and Wilkonski said she doesn't plan on buying a new one.
She said she just hopes someone has a change of heart and returns her property.
