WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
WEATHER TO WATCH: A round of storms will quickly move across Long Island from about 7 a.m. to noon Friday. There will be the chance for quick heavy rain and gusty winds. Nice weather follows with clearing skies and a fantastic weekend ahead.
RIP CURRENTS: High risk through the start of the weekend.
OVERNIGHT: Mostly cloudy with a passing shower or storm after midnight. Lows near 70. South winds 5 to 10 mph. Sunrise: 6:05
FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and storms in the morning. Clearing skies in the afternoon with a nice, sunny finish. Turning breezy. Highs near 84. Southwest to northwest winds 5 to 15 mph. Sunset: 7:47
FRIDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear and nice with cooler temperatures. Lows near 62. West wind 5 to 10 mph.
SATURDAY: Sunny with a few high thin clouds. Nice and warm with lower humidity. Highs near 79. Lows near 64.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny and warm with highs near 84. Lows near 69.
MONDAY: Sun and clouds. Slight chance of a late day shower. Warmer with highs near 87. Chance for a few showers and storms at night with lows near 70.
TUESDAY: Morning clouds give way to afternoon sun. Nice with highs near 81. Lows near 64.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny and nice. Highs near 80. Lows near 61.
