4h agoA raccoon in Blue Point got herself stuck in a sticky situation when she got her head stuck in a peanut butter jar.
A neighbor reached out to Frankie Floridia with Strong Island Animal Rescue who tracked the raccoon for three days.
On Thursday, he was finally able to catch the raccoon in a net and applied some oil to slip the jar off her head.
The raccoon was able to escape and safely rejoined her family.
Floridia said it’s important to properly discard jars in a recycling bin.
