President Joe Biden says he'll do what he can to keep gas
prices down, but just how high will they go?
“It may easily go up to $5 or
$5.50 before this is over, and then eventually the slowdown with the economy,
more supply will come in and the prices will go down maybe in 6 to 9 months,” says Hofstra Economics
Professor Robert Guttman.
According
to AAA, the national average for a gallon of regular sits at $4.25, up another
8 cents from Tuesday.
The average price in New York is always a little higher
than the national average, today it is at $4.43 a gallon.
On Long
Island, the average price also stands at $4.43 - which is up almost 60 cents in the last week.
